Course Syllabus
1. Computer Fundamentals
This module builds the base understanding of how a computer functions.
- Hardware Basics: Understanding the CPU, RAM, Hard Drives, input/output devices (keyboard, mouse, monitors, printers).
- Operating Systems (OS): Navigating Windows (or other OS), file management (creating folders, organizing files, shortcuts), and using control panels.
- System Maintenance: Basics of checking power supplies, installing software, and common troubleshooting.
2. Office Automation (The Productivity Suite)
This is the most critical part of the course for professional roles.
- MS Word: Document creation, professional formatting, resume building, mail merge, and table handling.
- MS Excel: Data entry, creating spreadsheets, basic formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, IF), charts, and data organization.
- MS PowerPoint: Designing professional presentations, slide transitions, animation, and inserting multimedia.
- MS Access: Introduction to basic database management and form creation.
3. Internet & Digital Tools
- Web Browsing: Searching effectively, managing bookmarks, and using cloud storage (Google Drive).
- Communication: Professional email etiquette, composing and sending attachments.
4. Advanced or Elective Modules (Varies by Institution)
Many institutions add specialized topics to increase job readiness:
- Accounting Basics: Introduction to Tally Prime or similar accounting software.
- Web Design Basics: Introduction to HTML.
- Multimedia: Basics of photo editing tools (like Photoshop).
